What My Clients are Saying

“ Overall it was an amazing experience.  The few days after it I felt
a little in shock by it all, ‘cause it was like I was sucked away into another dimension, but I think on day four I said that I’d love to do it again and look forward to having more babies… It (HypnoBirthing®) was a great way of training myself to relax and allow birth to happen.”
Rachael, 1st baby.

“The classes were eye-opening, reassuring and empowering.  Tracey is a very informed, well rounded instructor with lots of real-world anecdotes to help explain the need for things such as nutrition, birth positions, companions role etc.  She (Tracey) was open to questions and took the time to fully answer them.”
Duncan, dad-to-be,  1st baby.

“The course was really informative, having a good balance of theory and practice.  I was interested to learn about the psychological response to giving birth and how that can be manipulated into a more positive experience.  I had been afraid of the fear of giving birth and that was my starting point when researching HypnoBirthing. I felt reassured by your medical expertise as a midwife.  Your explanation of how to tap into he alternative to the ‘fight or flight’ emotions and enhance the effect of ‘positive’ brain chemicals was a good starting point and then to go on to the anatomical information on the uterus, pelvis and sacrum really made sense to me.  Your hints and tips on hospital births offered a great insight.  I now feel confident about giving birth, and although I know I don’t know everything I think I’m really well equipped to deal with whatever experience I have.  Knowledge is power and your course is packed with it”.
Morag, 1st baby.

“Well organised, informative, fun, reassuring - overall a very positive experience... Your ‘embroidery’ of stories, visual training aids, and class participation is hugely beneficial to the positive tone of the class and to the learning experience”.
Elizabeth & Stewart, 1st baby.

“Overall we found the course very informative and felt much more prepared than if we had just had the NHS ante-natal classes. The environment was very relaxed.  You (Tracey) was very knowledgeable and we liked that you were an experienced midwife who had used the techniques with your own children.  We felt that you were very approachable and explained things in an easy to understand way.  We found your detailed knowledge of labour physiology and labour options very helpful. Also your explanations about how to encourage the baby into a good birthing position, avoiding back-to- back etc, - also knees below pelvis, how the pelvis works and using the birthing ball were all extremely useful”.

Zoe and John, 1st baby.

“ Our baby was born like a dream - it was a wonderful birth and indeed very much an easy comfortable birth!  Overall labour lasted 7 hours but it did not feel that long at all, I thought it was only a couple of hours!
I must say they were wonderful at the hospital. I got in the labour room where it was all dark and all set to be very calm. I hardly noticed I was in the hospital.  The midwife was great, speaking very quietly and never using bright lights.
I had my Ipod playing Steven Halpern music non stop, my partner used the shoulder anchor and some of the birthing prompts.   I had NO PAIN, just strong feelings, I just was totally amazed at the power of my body and how magic it all was.  I was in a dream and could have slept if it was not for the fact the surges were quite amazing!  I did not feel anything when she crowned more like relief, probably because the only discomfort I had was trying to hold her in, since the midwife told me to not push.   So when she said go with it it felt really good!    I was totally fine after the birth, feeling great and refreshed.  The midwife told me I had had a "textbook" birth and was amazed how easy it all seemed for me.   I was NOT scared,  I was just so amazed to see how it all seemed to work.  I just felt very cold when a surge came and then very very hot once it was gone, not bad really!  The breathing really did work and so the staying relaxed! It was all so magic.
I had no drugs at all, our baby was so awake, and looking at me directly in the eyes when she was born, she was - still is so awake and alert- such a difference to our last baby.   I had a physiological 3rd stage- which was great, the placenta came out so easily in about 40 mins.
So I can say I had a HypnoBirth and I am the first one amazed as I was quite sceptical!!  I had the birth I was dreaming of and it all happen perfectly well. Even I am still surprised it turned out so well. The hospital totally respected my wishes and I was out of the hospital the same day.  So good!
So BIG HUGE THANKS Tracey for all your invaluable teaching and tips, you are the best. ...oh and by the way a few of the midwives knew you - I bet they are about to know even more of you if more women now have easy births thanks to you!
Thanks a million times - once I get a little more sleep I’d love to introduce you to our new baby as you are the person who helped her come into this world so easily!”
Jeanne, 2nd baby.

“Tracey was welcoming, well informed and able to relax all participants.  The information was set at the correct level and the explanations to the dads were very welcome… Although I was slightly trepidatious in respect of my role in the hypnobirth, I now know what to expect and how to assist as much as I can”.
Andrew, Dad to be

“I found the course to be a positive approach to birth and parenting preparation…  Tracey was engaging and knowledgeable.  I’ve enjoyed learning the various techniques for relaxation but have really enjoyed the family centred approach to birth and parenting preparation.  Love the absolute involvement of birth partners.  As HypnoBirthing offers a range of techniques, it was good to be able to choose the techniques you preferred – because birth isn’t a one size fits all.”
Heather, 1st pregnancy.

“Hi, just to let you know our baby arrived last Saturday. Whilst it wasn't totally pain free (!) the HypnoBirthing coaching definitely worked - so thank you so much!!!  The main thing was that I didn't panic like I was sure I was going to, which I put down to the HypnoBirthing training. In summary, my waters broke but no contractions accompanied. A quick look at my notes said I should call the hospital anyway & they told me to come up for monitoring. We duly did that, everything was fine & I was back home again in a couple of hours. We then sort of hung around at home, washed my hair, watched telly & had sausage sandwiches, which in hindsight was done in quite a bubble of serenity given the situation! I could NEVER have imagined doing that before I’d done the (HypnoBirthing) course.
As contractions had started we went back up to the RIE. Triage assessment was full so I was assessed in a delivery room. The midwife said I was only about 3cm & suggested that we went home, but I really didn't want to as I was perfectly calm & could sense things were progressing rather than regressing. So we stayed & I was allowed in the bath. Essentially, I don’t think the midwife believed I was in labour because I wasn't ranting & raving and screaming the house down. Just sitting in the bath with my eyes shut and holding Stephen’s arm seemed to be doing the trick. A couple of hours later our midwife got a portable pool hooked up in our room and 1½ hrs later our whopping 9lbs baby arrived !
As the postnatal ward was full we stayed the night in the delivery suite...and that's when we realised just how calm the HypnoBirthing had kept us - I have never heard shrilling sounds quite like it, I was thoroughly disturbed…  So, in short, HypnoBirthing definitely done good with this one. I cannot tell you how petrified I was of the whole thing, which seemed to just dissipate to a calmness when the event actually happened. My friends are in a state of disbelief about the whole thing as they are quite aware of my potential princess tendencies (no comments please!).”
Jane, 1st baby
